Okay, so we have entered the stages of what will be project 2 (duh duh duh) and the theme is connecting. Because the subject is widely open to possibilities my brain is on overload. I have a love of posters for entertainment so if it is allowed that is the direction my ship shall set sail. I do not know why but my brain has been levitating towards the Nutcracker (ballett). For you who are making grimacing faces at the thought of ballett (I'm going to assume that you don't know the story of the Nutcracker) the Nutcracker centers around time (clocks) and connecting to ones dreams.

Next steps towards proj. 1

SOOOOooo. You know that little old saying you hear over and over about making sure to save your work often when on the computer??? Yeah. That's right, I'm and idiot. I actually had my silhouette finished (excluding a few tweaks I wanted to make), but I forgot to save the last few steps before I decided to start fiddling around with my outline. Let my stupidity be an example for all, that if you do not want to look and feel as stupid as I do right now... save your crap!

Poison Ivy

Hey everyone! First off sorry for semi neglecting my blog this week :( I have been a little busy. Here is a piece I did on the fly of Poison Ivy. And so I do not get sued by DC Comics (which would really really suck) I must state that I do not own the rights to this character. Enjoy!

Hey everybody! So I was perusing through Deviantart today and saw a couple of images where an artist had taken two of her older pieces and reworked them to see if she all around had improved. I then had an idea (lightbulb!) maybe I should do the same thing!! I am currently enrolled in a digital illustration class (photoshop basically) so that I can become a pro at digital illustration. Sadly my photoshop skills are in the toddler faze, at least that would be my guestimate. I'm posting the image that I would like to redo after the semester to test myself on how much I really learned (potential of complete embarrassment). The piece I am posting is of a valkyrie falling to earth. Ooo, history lesson!! Valkyries are of Norse mythology. They are basically angels (chicks ;D) who's task was to descend to Earth to retrieve only the bravest of warriors who had fallen in epic battles, and then bring them back to Valhalla.
My picture (do to my lack of photoshop skills) was done in one layer, which of course took a massive load of time, and also has many other things about it that I know that I can improve. Hence the redo.

P.S. here is a link to my Deviantart page http://cchilson-art.deviantart.com/

My artwork!

Hola!

Okey dokey, for my 3rd, and most officially awesome post, I'm going to post...pictures....(DUN, DUN, DUN!) What kind do you ask?? Well it just so happens that I am an Illustration student! ta da! I'm pretty good with criticism so feel free to swing away! (Just not literally because I doubt your computer, and my body, are covered by that kind of warranty). The pointillism's where done in my 2D design class eons ago, and the other four were my little project over the summer. The three pin-ups were inspired by the GREAT GIL ELVGREN!! If you don't know his work look it up, he's the king of pin-ups after all! And yes I did borrow from he's images ("Good artists borrow, great artists steal"- Pablo Picasso) In fact all of the subjects in my images today are borrowed, most of which I do not own the copyrights to. (sad face) And for all my gaming nerds out there whom I adore, and for everybody else who's not cool enough to know ;D, the ominous chick with the skeletal wings is a character from Blizzard Entertainment's game Starcraft (For the queen!) For whom's copyright I sadly do not own, as well as the three characters in my pin-ups whom also belong to Blizzard. She is not finished yet because I-can't-figureout-what-to do with the stinking background!!! (Cry for help) So I guess that's it for now, enjoy! =)

P.S., you might ask why all my pictures are of a female figure. I promise boys I am not sexist, its just that I am more familiar with the female figure do to the fact that I am indeed a female. when I draw a male figure it usually resembles a horrific drawing of the hulk or a human version of a transformer... by the way, girls rule!
